U.S. Tractor Sales Up in January, Combines Down

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturer's monthly "Flash Report," the sale of all tractors in the U.S. in 2020, were up 5% in January compared to 2019.

Agri Marketing magazine reports that a total of 12,580 tractors were sold during January compared to 12,017 sold in 2019 representing an 5% increase for the year.

Two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 3% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were up 5%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were up 20%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were down 7%.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) are up 3% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP are up 5%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are up 20%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are down 7%.

Combine sales were up 25% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 198 compared to 262 in 2019, an 25% decrease.
