Missouri's Cattlemen Scholarship Deadline Nears
Missouri Ag Connection - 09/19/2018

Missouri's Cattlemen Foundation (MCF) offers an annual scholarship of $1,000 to 20-30 high school seniors and college students. This year, the top five finalists will be asked to interview. The interview will be held on Jan. 5 in Columbia at the Holiday Inn Executive Center during the Missouri Cattle Industry Convention & Trade Show. During the interview, the panel of judges will select the top two to receive an additional $2,000.

In the past, applicants have been asked to submit three letters of recommendation as part of their application. This year, one of their letters must be from a Missouri Cattlemen's Association member. MCF Chair Teresa Carlson said the scholarship program is one that MCF values highly.

"It is a major priority of the foundation to support the future generation of farmers and rancher and in providing this scholarship, it hopes to make higher education possible for more young people," said Carlson.

The deadline to apply for the 2019 scholarship is Sept. 30. For more information and to apply, click www.mocattle.org/scholarshipprogram.aspx.
