Missouri Corn Grain Harvest at 46 Percent

Temperatures last week averaged 54.1 degrees, 3.7 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 1.88 inches statewide, 1.25 inches above normal. There were 4.0 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 1 percent very short, 9 percent short, 77 percent adequate, and 13 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 1 percent very short, 6 percent short, 85 percent adequate, and 8 percent surplus.

Corn matured progressed to 92 percent. Corn harvested for grain progressed to 46 percent. Corn condition was rated at 5 percent very poor, 17 percent poor, 33 percent fair, 39 percent good, and 6 percent excellent.

Soybean coloring progressed to 91 percent this week, with soybeans dropping leaves progressing to 69 percent, 14 percentage points behind last year. Soybean harvested progressed to 15 percent this week. Soybean condition was rated at 4 percent very poor, 12 percent poor, 31 percent fair, 45 percent good, and 8 percent excellent.

Cotton bolls opening progressed to 91 percent, while cotton harvested progressed to 23 percent. Cotton condition was rated at 11 percent very poor, 17 percent poor, 52 percent fair, and 20 percent good.

Rice harvested progressed to 90 percent this week. Winter wheat planted progressed to 24 percent.

Winter wheat emerged progressed to 6 percent this week.
