Missouri Soybean Harvest Ahead of 2018 Pace

Temperatures last week averaged 42.0 degrees, 4.5 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.72 inches statewide, 0.01 inches above normal. There were 4.9 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 2 percent short, 87 percent adequate, and 11 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 2 percent short, 94 percent adequate, and 4 percent surplus.

Corn harvested for grain progressed to 79 percent, 15 percentage points behind last year.

Soybean harvested progressed to 72 percent this week, 3 percentage points ahead of last year.

Cotton harvested progressed to 71 percent, 22 percentage points behind last year.

Winter wheat planted progressed to 74 percent this week, 3 percentage points ahead of last year, while winter wheat emerged progressed to 51 percent. Winter wheat condition was rated at 1 percent very poor, 5 percent poor, 51 percent fair, 41 percent good, and 2 percent excellent.
