Missouri Cotton Harvest 94 Percent Complete

Temperatures last week averaged 42.1 degrees, 2.7 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged 1.05 inches statewide, 0.16 inches above average. There were 3.6 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 2 percent very short, 11 percent short, 85 percent adequate, and 2 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 3 percent very short, 19 percent short, and 78 percent adequate.

Soybean harvest was 97 percent complete, compared to the 5-year average of 95 percent.

Cotton harvest was 94 percent complete, compared to the 5-year average of 98 percent.

Winter wheat planted progressed to 95 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 94 percent. Winter wheat emerged was 89 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 82 percent. Winter wheat condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 7 percent poor, 42 percent fair, 48 percent good, and 2 percent excellent.
