Thummel Joins Missouri Cattlemen's Staff
Missouri Ag Connection - 02/14/2019

The Missouri Cattlemen's Association (MCA) welcomed Sydney Thummel to its staff. She will serve as the manager of membership based in the association's headquarters office in Columbia, Mo. MCA Executive Vice President Mike Deering said Thummel is no stranger to the association and has been involved for many years.

"I am confident Sydney will represent MCA well and will be a true asset to the current and soon-to-be members of this association," said Deering. She's hardworking. She's dedicated. Most importantly, she is committed and passionate about advancing Missouri's beef industry."

Thummel is a recent graduate of Northwest Missouri State University where she majored in agricultural business. Originally from Sheridan, Mo., in Worth County, she grew up on a diversified farming operation and is an active participant on the farm. She has been an active member and a leader in the Missouri Junior Cattlemen's Association and the Missouri Junior Angus Association. While attending college, Sydney worked for GFG Ag Services in Albany, Mo.; Nodaway Valley Bank in Maryville, Mo.; and worked as an assistant at the beef office at the Missouri State Fair.

"I am ready to get to work," said Thummel. "Missouri farm and ranch families work hard to produce the safest, most delicious beef possible. They do not have time to drop everything and be in Jefferson City or Washington, D.C., in a moment's notice. That's one reason this association exists. We are there for them and I'm honored to be part of the team."
