Private Pesticide Applicator Certification March 15
Missouri Ag Connection - 02/20/2017

Private pesticide applicator training sessions are being offered in Greene by University of Missouri.

Under Missouri law, this training provides certification to obtain a Private Pesticide Applicators License for Missouri agricultural producers and will also count for recertification requirements by the state. The training will not certify for commercial application licenses. This training is open to producers of agricultural commodities, 18 years of age or older.

"This three-hour training program will allow individuals to recertify or receive initial training to be licensed to purchase or use restricted-use pesticides for five years," said Tim Schnakenberg, an agronomy specialist with University of Missouri Extension and instructor for these classes.

The training in Greene County will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., March 15, at the Greene County Extension Center, located at the Botanical Center, Springfield. There is a charge of $18 per person.

Pre-registration is required by calling 417-881-8909 or registering online at extension.missouri.edu/greene.

The charge for each class is set in order to cover the cost of materials.

"The reference manual can be shared among members of the same household. If a current edition (M87 printed 2007) of the Missouri Private Pesticide Applicator Reference Manual is already available to you, please bring it with you when you recertify," said Schnakenberg.

Class participants that come with a 2007 manual will have the cost of their training reduced by $12 (which is the cost of the manual).

If you are unable to attend this group training, it is possible to arrange for a viewing of the DVD at the Greene County Extension office at 8:30 a.m. on selected day for a fee of $25.
