Register Now for Collecting, Harvesting, Processing Pine Needles
Missouri Ag Connection - 02/22/2021

Wait, what?

Yes, you read that right. Pine needles can be collected, harvested and processed.

Even though eastern white pine trees are not native to Missouri, they are often found in urban areas and urban landscapes since they grow easy and fast, and they are a beautiful tree.

In a virtual program this week, the Missouri Department of Conservation will discuss various pine (or other evergreen) trees, including Missouri's only native pine tree species, and recipes using pine needles. The recipes to be covered will be pine needle tea and pine needle cookies, using needles from eastern white pine trees.

This program is intended for adults, but it may be enjoyed by the whole family.
