New Hunters Invited to Turkey Clinic at Dalton
Missouri Ag Connection - 03/14/2018

Spring turkey hunting involves a variety of skills. Knowing how to locate a gobbler, calling him into shotgun range, handling your firearm in a safe fashion and knowing the regulations are all parts of a successful and safe hunt.

Hunters can learn more about the fundamentals of this popular spring pastime at the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) clinic "Turkey Hunting" on March 24 at MDC's Andy Dalton Range and Outdoor Education Center, 4897 N. Greene County Farm Road 61. This free program will be from 8:30-11:30 a.m. People can register online at mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails/154299.

Topics covered at this seminar include calling, locating, firearms safety, hunt preparation, how to call a turkey, identifying legal birds and information on shooting ballistics. This clinic will be preparation for those wishing to participate in either Missouri's youth-only turkey season, April 7-8, or the state's regular spring turkey season, April 16-May 6.

Turkey hunting information can also be found at huntfish.mdc.mo.gov/hunting-trapping/species/turkey
