Extension Goat Marketing Webinar with Dr. Pinkerton
Missouri Ag Connection - 04/08/2021

University of Minnesota Extension will host a goat marketing webinar on April 29 starting at 6:30 p.m. CT. Dr. Frank Pinkerton is a world-renowned goat expert who will provide guidance and life lessons focusing on the marketing of meat-type goats. Farmers, 4-Hers, ag business professionals who work with farmers, and those interested in goats, or sheep, are invited to attend.

Dr. Frank Pinkerton, aka "The Goat Man," has a long and storied career serving the meat goat industry in the United States and around the world. Dr. Pinkerton will discuss basic management decisions that ultimately affect profitability including animal nutrition, ideal market weight, seasonality and timing of marketing goats. He will also talk about the prevailing supply/demand ratios for goat meat, market channels (farm to consumer), and ethnic consumer needs. Additionally, reproduction management tips including estrus induction and synchronization of females will highlight how producers can transition to spring breeding/fall kidding and capitalize on seasonal demands of goat meat (and lamb).

If you are already in the sheep and/or goat business, you are likely well aware that the current market for sheep and goats is phenomenal. Please join us for this unique opportunity to learn from one of the true experts in the field and bring your questions for Dr. Pinkerton to this interactive webinar.
