MCA Recognizes Top Membership Recruiters
Missouri Ag Connection - 01/11/2019

The Missouri Cattlemen's Association (MCA) recognized individuals - known as Top Hands - who recruited new members in 2018. Top Hands received recognition during the 51st Annual Missouri Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show.

The top membership recruiter in 2018, recruiting 80 new members, was Greg Buckman from Hallsville, Missouri. For his efforts, Buckman receives a trip to the National Cattlemen's Beef Association Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana. Butch Meier, Jackson, Missouri, was the second-overall recruiter, bringing in 50 new members. He will receive a custom belt buckle.

The MCA Top Hands cumulatively recruited over 800 new members over the past year. This is a 300 new member increase over a year ago. These cattlemen received prizes based on the number of new members they recruited. Sixteen first level top hands received an MCA pocket knife for recruiting three to four new members. Fourteen second level recruiters brought in five to nine new members and received a MCA farm sign. Nine recruiters signed up 10 or more members and received a large farm sign. Four top hands recruited 20 or more members. These recruiters received a large farm sign and a MCA convention package.

"MCA is glad to present these top hands with an incentive," MCA Manager of Membership Maria Washburn said. "Recruiting 800 new members in one year is a great accomplishment for our association."

The county affiliate bringing in the most new members was the Hickory County Cattlemen's Association. The affiliate received a $500 gift card from LAG Industries.
