Parson Keynotes Santa Fe Agri-Leaders Annual Meeting
Missouri Ag Connection - 01/16/2018

Lieutenant Governor Mike Parson spoke at the Santa Fe Agri-leaders (Missouri Chapter of the Young Farmers and Farm Wives) annual meeting at the Santa Fe High School in Alma, Mo. The Lieutenant Governor addressed a crowd of approximately 100 community members representing agriculture.

"Advocacy for agriculture is important and critical for farming to stay as a priority. Recognizing the abundance that agriculture provides is important, and farmers and farm wives are among the best advocates to help bridge the gap between consumers and modern agriculture," Parson said. "Agriculture matters to the future. If farmers and farm wives are going to stay strong today and in the future, they must become advocates."

Parson reminded the audience, "It's important that all young farmers and farm wives continue to learn and grow, so this industry will continue to impact Missouri and America. Farmers are the backbone of society, and they need young farmers and farm wives to stay motivated to carry on the tradition."
