Missouri Ag Connection - 08/18/2017

University of Missouri Extension is offering a workshop to help individuals learn what they need to know for a beautiful lawn next spring.

The "Lawn Care Workshop" will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Aug. 24 at the Howell County MU Extension center, 1376 Bill Virdon Blvd, West Plains.

Dr. Lee Miller, professor in the plant sciences department at the University of Missouri, will be instructor.

"This workshop is for do-it-yourself homeowners and professional lawn care providers," said Miller.

Workshop topics include taking the guesswork out of managing destructive lawn pests, saving money on un-needed chemicals or fertilizer and ridding your lawn of weeds.

Space is limited for this popular workshop. Registration for the workshop is needed by Aug. 23.

Attendees will receive a 99-page reference book, "Integrated Pest Management, Pest Management for Home Lawns" pocket guide. That pocket guide is also available at the Howell County MU Extension office for persons not attending the workshop.

The Howell County MU Extension office at 417-256-2391 to register or visit the office in East Towne Village Monday through Friday.
