Learn ABCs of USDA Programs at Free Union Workshop

Register now to attend the ABCs of USDA Programs workshop. The free two-part workshop is 6-9 p.m. Jan. 28 and 30 at the University of Missouri Extension Council Foundation Meeting Room, 102 Union Plaza Drive, in Union.

Attendees will learn about various USDA programs through plain-language presentations by USDA personnel. Rhonda DeVault of the Natural Resources Conservation Service, Nathan Tutt from USDA Rural Development and Sheria Yancey of USDA Farm Service Agency will outline the ABCs of the programs and share information on how to sign up.

MU Extension specialists Debi Kelly and Karen Funkenbusch will share information about extension programs specific to beginning farmers, veteran farmers, socially disadvantaged farmers, women in agriculture and farmers with disabilities.

USDA resources will be provided as well as technical one-on-one assistance to participants. The workshop is free, but participants are encouraged to register in advance to ensure enough food is available for a light dinner.
