Agri Spray Drones (ASD) has announced a major shift in its business strategy, evolving from a spray drone distributor into an agricultural drone manufacturer and technology developer.
The move allows the company to apply years of field experience, customer feedback, and operational knowledge to the design of new drone platforms, software systems, quality control processes, and autonomous technologies.
The company also revealed that production is underway on its next-generation spray drone platform, which will serve as the first product developed under this expanded manufacturing vision. Additional details about the new platform are expected later this year.
"We have spent years training operators, dealers, and service providers – supporting them through spray season and learning what works in the field and what creates unnecessary friction," said Taylor Moreland, founder and CEO of Agri Spray Drones.
"Now, we're using those lessons to help shape the products, software and autonomous systems our customers will depend on next."
Drawing on insights from its nationwide dealer network, technical support teams, training programs, and operator relationships, ASD aims to create equipment that better addresses real-world farming challenges.
The company says greater control over product development, software, manufacturing, and supply chains will help streamline innovation and improve responsiveness to customer needs.
ASD’s manufacturing roadmap includes expanding U.S.-based assembly, software management, component sourcing, and quality control through 2028. The company ultimately hopes to source a majority of critical drone components domestically.
The upcoming drone platform will feature improvements focused on application accuracy, operational efficiency, component durability, power connectivity, and easier maintenance. Beyond hardware, ASD is investing in automation technologies designed to reduce manual labor and improve workflow.
One example is the company’s Drone Dock system, which automates the drone refill process, helping reduce operator exposure to chemicals while increasing productivity.
"The future isn't one autonomous drone. It's an autonomous operation," Moreland said.
ASD believes its expanded focus on manufacturing, automation, and software development will help shape the future of precision agriculture and autonomous spray applications in the United States.
