Learn to Cook Using a Dutch Oven in Jefferson City

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites the public to return to classic cooking styles by learning how to cook using a Dutch oven on Sept. 17 at Runge Nature Center. This event will run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with participants only asked to bring their appetite.

Dutch ovens are a versatile tool to have in the kitchen or at a campsite, and they can be used to cook a variety of dishes. From cooking breads, meat, side dishes, and desserts, a Dutch oven can do it all.

Ingredients to prepare a main meal and desserts will be provided by MDC staff during this event, and their expertise will guide participants through the cooking process. Registration for this event is required and can be done .
For any questions, please email the instructor at becky.matney@mdc.mo.gov.

Runge Nature Center is located at 330 Commerce Dr. in Jefferson City.
