Missouri Corn, Soybeans, Rice Running Ahead of Averages



There were 6.2 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending Sunday. Temperatures last week averaged 57.7 degrees, 0.4 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.44 inches, 0.27 inches below normal. Topsoil moisture supply rated 38 percent very short, 41 percent short and 21 percent adequate. Subsoil moisture supply rated 33 percent very short, 42 percent short and 25 percent adequate.

Corn mature was 97 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 98 percent. Corn harvested was 67 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 65 percent.

Soybeans dropping leaves was 94 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 84 percent. Soybeans harvested was 38 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 29 percent. Soybeans condition rated 5 percent very poor, 11 percent poor, 33 percent fair, 43 percent good and 8 percent excellent.

Cotton harvested was 30 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 40 percent. Cotton condition rated 6 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 28 percent fair, 57 percent good and 3 percent excellent.

Rice harvested was 88 percent compared to the 5-year average of 84 percent.

Winter wheat planted was 34 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 30 percent. Winter wheat emerged was 9 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 14.
