Missouri Farmers Retain Full Access to FSA Services

Missouri Farmers Retain Full Access to FSA Services

By Blake Jackson

U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) announced that Farm Service Agency (FSA) offices throughout Missouri will remain open without reductions in service, following confirmation from U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Under Secretary Richard Fordyce.

The announcement follows Hawley’s August request urging the USDA to maintain FSA office operations across Missouri after proposed service reductions raised concerns in Ralls County.

“Agriculture is the backbone of Missouri, and our farmers depend on reliable access to the resources they need to keep their operations running,” said Senator Hawley.

“I welcome USDA’s commitment that Farm Service Agency offices across Missouri will remain open and continue serving farmers, especially as they access critical conservation and disaster assistance,” Hawley added.

“The Department remains committed to ensuring producers have reliable access to the programs and services they depend on to continue feeding, fueling, and clothing our nation and the world. The Department’s Service Centers are central to this mission…As it stands, there are no Missouri field offices which are being transitioned to a part-time or appointment-only status," Under Secretary Richard Fordyce wrote.

"This includes the Ralls County office, which I am pleased to share, will remain fully operational. Similarly, no field offices in Missouri are being proposed for closure.”
