The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is encouraging deer hunters to submit applications during the July 1-31 registration period for a chance to participate in more than 140 managed deer hunts held across Missouri.
The managed hunts will take place from mid-September through mid-January and include opportunities for both archery and muzzleloader hunting.
Events are scheduled at designated conservation areas, state parks, national wildlife refuges, and other public lands throughout the state.
To make hunting opportunities more accessible, MDC also offers select hunts specifically for youth hunters, first-time participants, and individuals with disabilities. Successful applicants are chosen through a weighted random drawing process.
Hunters can check their application status beginning Aug. 15. Those selected will receive detailed hunt information, including area maps, schedules, and additional instructions by email or postal mail.
Prospective participants can review available hunt options, eligibility requirements, and application details by visiting the Missouri Department of Conservation's managed deer hunt webpage before the July 31 deadline.
