The Missouri Soybean Association (MSA) and Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council (MSMC) have chosen four interns from the University of Missouri-Columbia to join their team for the summer of 2024. Sally Schmidt, Kelsey Duke, Bryce Himmelberg, and Kyle McCully will contribute to various aspects of the soybean industry through their internship roles.
Gary Wheeler, CEO and executive director of Missouri Soybeans, expresses the organization's commitment to providing students with valuable professional experiences. The internship program aims to support the mission and vision of Missouri Soybeans while fostering the growth of future leaders in the industry.
Kelsey Duke, a senior at the University of Missouri-Columbia, will serve as the policy and producer outreach intern. Sally Schmidt, pursuing a master's degree in agricultural education and communication, will focus on communications. Bryce Himmelberg, a junior studying plant sciences, will contribute as a research and agronomy intern. Kyle McCully, pursuing a master's degree in natural resources, will focus on conservation agriculture.
These interns bring a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences to their respective roles, enriching the internship program with their unique perspectives and skills. Throughout the summer, they will have the opportunity to engage in various projects and initiatives aimed at advancing the soybean industry and promoting sustainability.
The internship program reflects Missouri Soybeans' dedication to investing in the future of agriculture by providing students with practical experience and mentorship opportunities. Through this program, Missouri Soybeans aims to inspire and empower the next generation of agricultural leaders.
