Missouri Winter Wheat and Cotton Acres Up Double Digits



USDA's National Ag Statistics Services on Thursday reported the following results for the Missouri crop acreage report:

Corn: Planted area, at 3.6 million acres, is unchanged from 2021. Harvested area for grain, at 3.43 million acres, is also unchanged from the previous year.

Soybeans: Planted area, at 5.9 million acres, up 4 percent from 2021. Harvested area is expected to total 5.85 million acres, up 4 percent from last year.

Winter wheat: Planted area for 2022, estimated at 800,000 acres, is up 25 percent from 2021. Area harvested for grain is forecast at 660,000 acres, up 35 percent from the previous year.

Hay: Harvested area of all hay is expected to total 3.01 million acres, down 4 percent from 2021. This total includes 210,000 acres of alfalfa and 2.80 million acres of all other hay.

Cotton: Planted area, at 380,000 acres, up 21 percent from 2021.

Rice: Planted area, at 189,000 acres, is down 5 percent from 2021. Harvested area, forecast at 184,000 acres, is down 5 percent from the previous year.
