The Missouri Cattlemen's Association (MCA) presented Dr. Michael F. Smith, University of Missouri, Columbia, with the Allied Industry Award during the 55th Annual Missouri Cattle Industry Convention & Trade Show. Dr. Michael Smith served on the faculty of the Division of Animal Sciences at the University of Missouri for 40 years, retiring in 2020. Just a few of Smith’s contributions include the research of beef cattle reproductive biology, sustained excellence in teaching undergraduate students and mentoring graduate students. “Dr. Michael Smith exemplifies the purpose of the Allied Industry Award,” said Patty Wood, MCA past president. “He knows the bigger picture of the cattle industry and has been a partner over many years. The impact of his teaching as well as the research of beef cattle reproductive biology has and will continue to make a difference.” The 55th Annual Missouri Cattle Industry Convention & Trade Show was held at Margaritaville Lake Resort in Osage Beach.
