The Missouri Department of Agriculture announced the winners of the 2023 Focus on Missouri Agriculture Photo Contest, highlighting the exceptional talent of photographers across the state. The Best in Show award went to Tony Cook of Fayette, Mo., for his captivating photo titled "Hitched," featuring the Missouri state animal. The First Family's Choice award was granted to Lacie Ritter of Saint Mary, Mo., for her endearing image titled "Little Future Farmer," chosen by Governor Mike Parson and First Lady Teresa Parson.
The contest included categories such as Beauty of the Farm, Faces of the Farmer, Around the Barnyard, Everyday Life, and Kids' Corner. A panel of judges from the agriculture industry selected 21 winning photographs from the submissions.
These remarkable images provide an accurate representation of Missouri's diverse agricultural landscape and offer viewers a glimpse into the daily lives of farmers. From picturesque sunsets over planting fields to the heartwarming moments shared by farming families, the photos encapsulate the essence and significance of Missouri's agricultural heritage.
The winning photographs, along with the other entries, will be exhibited at the Agriculture Building during the Missouri State Fair, allowing visitors to appreciate the talent and the beauty of Missouri's agricultural industry.
