Free event - boost your livestock management

Join Missouri Extension specialists at the Southwest Research, Extension & Education Center on January 14, 2025, for a free educational event focused on the agronomic aspects of raising livestock. This session will run from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the center, located at 14548 Highway H, Mount Vernon, MO 65712.

The evening will feature expert presentations on key topics to support livestock management. Ian McGregor will discuss drought-resilient forages, helping farmers better prepare for challenging weather conditions.

Tim Schnakenberg will provide insights into effective pasture weed and brush control, essential for maintaining healthy grazing land.

Caleb O'Neal will cover strategies for forage and livestock management that build drought-resilient soils, an important aspect of long-term farm sustainability.

This event is free of charge, made possible by generous local sponsors including Mid-Missouri Bank of Mount Vernon, Ozark Electric Cooperative, Lawrence County Farm Bureau, Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce, and the Southwest Cattlemen's Association.
