The Missouri Department of Agriculture is inviting 30 high school students from 4-H clubs, FFA chapters, and farm families across the state to participate in the 2025 Missouri Agribusiness Academy (MAbA). This competitive program is open to high school sophomores interested in exploring agriculture-related careers and degrees.
“We love providing an opportunity for Missouri youth to connect with peers and network with industry leaders,” said Director of Agriculture Chris Chinn. “The MAbA program leads to lifelong friendships and mentorship opportunities year after year and continues to be a highlight for agriculture students interested in pursuing a career in our industry.”
Selected participants will engage in a yearlong experience that includes learning about career opportunities in the Kansas City area, volunteering at the Missouri State Fair, and gaining insights into the agriculture industry in Jefferson City. The program will feature industry tours and meetings with agribusiness leaders, offering valuable exposure to the sector.
Since its establishment in 1988, MAbA has graduated over 1,100 students through a rigorous application and interview process. The first segment of the 2025 program will run from June 2-6, marking the academy’s 38th year.
Applications are due by February 1, 2025. For more information and guidelines, visit the Missouri Department of Agriculture's website at Agriculture.Mo.Gov.
