Join Missouri online Master Gardener program – spring 2025

By Blake Jackson

The University of Missouri Extension offers an online Master Gardener program for those who want to expand their gardening knowledge and share it with others.

"One of the joys of becoming an Extension Master Gardener is the satisfaction of sharing your plant knowledge with others," says Debi Kelly, state Master Gardener coordinator for University of Missouri Extension. "The Extension Master Gardener program was initiated to do just that. Its motto, ‘helping others learn to grow,’ emphasizes service to others as the program’s main objective.”

The spring session runs from January 19th to May 31st, 2025. Led by horticulture experts, the 15 online sessions cover essential topics like plant science, soil health, vegetable and fruit production, pest management, and landscape design.

Participants learn at their own pace through presentations and optional hands-on activities. Upon completion, volunteers contribute 30 hours of service to community gardening projects, coordinated by local Master Gardener programs.

Since 2013, over 3,000 people have participated in the online program, making it a popular choice for aspiring Master Gardeners nationwide.
