Master invasive plant control - join our expert led classes

By Blake Jackson

The University of Missouri is hosting a valuable class aimed at controlling invasive plants, consisting of three informative sessions.

This program is designed for homeowners and land managers looking to tackle invasive species in various environments, including gardens, fence rows, pastures, and forests.

Participants will gain essential skills in plant identification and explore both non-chemical and chemical management strategies, recognizing that some invasive species require multiple control approaches.

The classes will be led by experienced instructors Gwen Funk, Field Specialist in Horticulture, and Wayne Flanary, Field Specialist in Agronomy.

Each session will run from 6 PM to 8 PM on October 1, October 8, and October 15, 2024, at the Northwest Technical School located at 1515 S Munn Ave, Maryville, MO.

The registration fee for the course is $30, which includes all necessary materials. For inquiries or to register, you can contact Gwen Funk at 660-582-8101, Wayne Flanary at 816-279-1691, or the Nodaway County Extension office at 660-582-8101.

Online registration is also available through the Northwest Technical School. This class presents an excellent opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills in managing invasive plants effectively.
