Lincoln University of Missouri will host an in-service education training focused on organic agriculture on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Alan T. Busby Farm in Jefferson City, Missouri.
The full-day program, running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., is designed as a Train-the-Trainer opportunity for Missouri faculty, Extension educators, farmer leaders, and community-based agricultural trainers.
Led by Sophie Whyte, area educator of Horticulture at Lincoln University, the training will provide research-based information on developments in organic farming.
Participants will explore the history of organic agriculture, certification requirements, and USDA programs that support farmers and educators working in the organic sector.
The event will conclude with a guided tour of the LU Busby Organic Research Farm, recognized as one of the Midwest’s larger certified organic research farms. Lunch, refreshments, and lodging will be provided for participants.
