Missouri Row Crop Harvests Progressing



There were 7 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending Sunday. Temperatures last week averaged 58.6 degrees, 0.4 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.01 inches, 0.78 inches below normal. Topsoil moisture supply rated 35 percent very short, 42 percent short, and 23 percent adequate. Subsoil moisture supply rated 28 percent very short, 44 percent short, and 28 percent adequate.

Corn mature was 93 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 95 percent. Corn harvested was 53 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 56 percent. Corn condition rated 9 percent very poor, 15 percent poor, 26 percent fair, 41 percent good and 9 percent excellent.

Soybeans dropping leaves was 88 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 70 percent. Soybeans harvested was 22 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 18 percent. Soybeans condition rated 5 percent very poor, 13 percent poor, 33 percent fair, 42 percent good and 7 percent excellent.

Cotton bolls opening was 98 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 93 percent. Cotton harvested was 14 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 24 percent. Cotton condition rated 6 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 28 percent fair, 57 percent good, and 3 percent excellent.

Rice harvested was 78 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 75 percent.

Winter wheat planted was 12 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 18 percent. Winter wheat emerged was 3 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 6.
