The Missouri Soybean Association (MSA) and Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council (MSMC) have introduced the 2025 class of the Missouri Grassroots Fellowship, a program dedicated to shaping the next generation of agricultural leaders.
This year’s fellows represent soybean producers from across the state, each bringing unique insights and a passion for strengthening Missouri agriculture. The selected fellows include:
- Seth Gibson, Richmond - District 1
- Luke Hopper, Chillicothe - District 2
- Michael Crowley, Sturgeon - District 3
- Zachary Nixon, Kahoka - District 3
- Casey Heiman, Butler - District 4
- Gregory Koetting, Henley - District 5
- Craig Schneider, Warrenton - District 6
The fellowship, open to farmers ages 25-45, is a year-long initiative that prepares participants to advocate for agriculture and take on leadership roles.
Program highlights include policy workshops, media training, grassroots engagement, and advocacy trips to both Jefferson City and Washington, D.C. Fellows also gain global perspective by learning about international trade and export markets.
“Investing in the next generation of leaders is essential for the future of Missouri agriculture,” said Renee Fordyce, MSA president. “This fellowship equips farmers with the skills, relationships and experiences they need to represent their peers and strengthen the voice of agriculture.”
Now celebrating its fifth year, the Missouri Grassroots Fellowship continues to empower young leaders who go on to serve in commodity groups, local boards, and statewide initiatives.
