Gardeners in central Missouri will have an opportunity to expand their horticulture knowledge at the upcoming Spring Garden Seminar hosted by the University of Missouri Extension in Cole County in partnership with Central Missouri Master Gardeners (CMMG).
The half-day event is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 8:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Aging Best Senior Center, 2027 Christy Drive, Jefferson City.
This free educational program will focus on practical landscaping and gardening topics designed to help homeowners make informed decisions in their own yards.
Sessions will explore reducing lawn areas in the landscape, replacing invasive plants with native species, and selecting reliable annuals and ornamental plants. Attendees will also gain insights into successfully growing organic vegetables.
The seminar begins with a brief introduction, followed by four educational presentations. Each session includes a 10-minute question-and-answer period, allowing participants to engage directly with presenters.
Although there is no cost to attend, registration is required. Participants may register online or call the University of Missouri Extension in Cole County at 573-634-2824.
Guests should bring their own lunch, while light snacks and beverages will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring a reusable drink container.
