Farmers and agricultural professionals interested in drone technology can take part in a full-day, hands-on workshop scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will be held at Auxvasse Lions Club Park - Callaway Youth Expo, 600 E. Chestnut Street in Fulton, Missouri.
This interactive program blends classroom instruction with in-field experience, giving participants a comprehensive look at how drones are used in modern agriculture.
The morning session will cover federal drone laws and FAA requirements, including remote pilot certification guidelines. Attendees will also explore various drone models, startup costs, and the economic considerations of launching a drone-based agricultural service business.
Additional topics include evaluating drones for herbicide spraying, fertilizer topdressing, and cover crop seeding, along with capturing and analyzing aerial imagery for crop management decisions.
In the afternoon, participants will move outdoors for practical flight training, including manual operation, autonomous mission planning, and real-world farm applications.
