NASS Issues Final Missouri Crop Production Figures



Corn: Planted area, at 3.35 million acres, is down 7 percent from 2021. Corn for grain was harvested on 3.12 million acres, down 9 percent from last year. The corn yield is estimated at 161 bushels per acre, up 2 bushels from 2021. Production is estimated at 502 million bushels, down 8 percent from last year.

Soybeans: Planted area, at 6.10 million acres, is up 7 percent from 2021. Harvested area, at 6.06 million acres, is up 7 percent from the previous year. The soybean yield is estimated at 45.5 bushels per acre, down 3.5 bushels from 2021. Production is estimated at 275.7 million bushels, down less than 1 percent from the previous year.

Cotton: Planted area is forecast 360,000 acres, up 14 percent from last year. Harvested area is forecast at 340,000 acres, up 10 percent from last year. Missouri cotton yield is forecast at 1,172 pounds per acre, down 88 pounds from last year. Production is forecast at 830,000 bales (480-pound), up 2 percent from last year.

Rice: Planted area, at 155,000 acres, is down 22 percent from 2021. Harvested area, at 149,000 acres, is down 23 percent from the previous year. The rice yield is estimated at 7,940 pounds per acre, down 100 pounds from 2021. Production is estimated at 11.8 million cwt, down 24 percent from last year.

Winter wheat: Harvested area in 2022 is estimated at 410,000 acres, down 16 percent from the previous year. The winter wheat yield is estimated at 60 bushels per acre, down 5 bushels from 2021. Production is estimated at 24.6 million bushels, 23 percent below the previous year.

Oats: Harvested area in 2022, at 8,000 acres, is down 7,000 acres from the previous year. The oat yield is estimated at 52 bushels per acre, down 8 bushels from 2021. Production is estimated at 416,000 bushels, down 484,000 bushels from the previous year.

All hay: Harvested area, at 3.18 million acres, is up 1 percent from 2021. The all hay yield is estimated at 1.83 tons per acre, down 0.25 ton from the previous year. Production is estimated at 5.83 million tons, 11 percent below 2021.
