Farm Bureau Announces Recipients of Michael P. Voiles Memorial Scholarship for Insurance and Agriculture
Missouri Ag Connection - 09/14/2023

Korbin Fisher (Cole County), Cameryn Belle Hoffman (Audrain County) and Matthew Jermain (Nodaway County) have been awarded the inaugural Michael P. Voiles Scholarship for Insurance and Agriculture, announced Tuesday by Missouri Farm Bureau.

The scholarship was established this fall to honor Voiles’ outstanding legacy and service at Missouri Farm Bureau (MOFB). Voiles served MOFB and its members for 42 years, and the scholarship was created by his wife, Beckie, to encourage students to pursue degrees – and ultimately careers – in the insurance and agricultural industries. Each recipient will receive a $1,500 scholarship that is renewable for up to three additional years, pending the successful completion of yearly criteria.

Fisher, a first-year student at Truman State University, graduated from Helias Catholic High School in May 2023 after competing for both the Crusaders’ football and track and field teams. He was named a captain of the football program his senior year while volunteering at the Jefferson City Animal Shelter and the Rape and Abuse Crisis Service Center. Fisher also penned two essays related to the insurance industry covering supply chain disruptions and future careers in insurance, serving to build and share his knowledge of the industry. Fisher intends to major in Business Administration while playing football at Truman State.

Hoffman, a third-year student at College of the Ozarks, graduated from North Callaway High School in May 2021 and has accumulated 94 collegiate hours through two full years at COO. She was the President of the North Callaway FFA during high school and has continued an active agricultural role by serving as the reporter for the COO Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter. Hoffman volunteers with the Audrain County 4-H and youth fair every year and helps with the community garden at Bridge of Faith community church. Hoffman is majoring in Agricultural Business and Agronomy.
