High Prices Drive Demand at Missouri Bull Sale Event

High Prices Drive Demand at Missouri Bull Sale Event

By Blake Jackson

High cattle prices continued to attract interest at the 105th Southwest Missouri All Breeds Performance Tested Bull Sale, according to Patrick Davis, livestock field specialist with University of Missouri Extension. “People are enjoying high cattle prices, and the 105th Southwest Missouri All Breeds Performance Tested Bull Sale was no different,” he said.

A total of 26 bulls were sold at the event, averaging $5,458 per head. This marked an increase of approximately $1,200 per bull compared to the fall 2024 sale and over $1,600 more than the spring 2024 average.

Angus bulls made up the majority of the sale, with 23 head selling for an average of $5,530 each. The three Gelbvieh/Balancer bulls brought in an average of $4,900.

“New and old Angus bull consignors topped the sale,” Davis noted. Segraves Angus of Mulberry Grove, Illinois, a new consignor, had the highest-selling bull at $11,000, purchased by Paradox Farms of Bolivar, Missouri. Blue Mound Angus, a long-time consignor from El Dorado Springs, Missouri, sold the second-highest bull for $10,000 to Martin Harman of Walnut Grove, Missouri.

“Witt Cattle of Eldorado Springs, Mo., had the three Gelbvieh/Balancer consignments,” said Davis, with prices ranging from $4,800 to $5,000.
