59 Percent of Missouri Wheat Good to Excellent



There were 2.4 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending Sunday. Temperatures last week averaged 56.6 degrees statewide, 1.3 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 1.12 inch, 0.06 inches above normal. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 1 percent very short, 1 percent short, 71 percent adequate and 27 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 2 percent very short, 6 percent short, 81 percent adequate, and 11 percent surplus.

Corn planted was 10 percent complete, compared to the 5-year average of 29 percent.

Soybeans planted was 1 percent complete, compared to the 5-year average of 2 percent.

Rice planted remained at 1 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 38 percent.

Winter wheat headed was 3 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 18 percent. Winter wheat condition rated 1 percent very poor, 3 percent poor, 37 percent fair, 54 percent good and 5 percent excellent.
