Lincoln University Hosts Beef Cattle Artificial Insemination Training School

By Blake Jackson

Lincoln University’s College of Agriculture will host a Beef Cattle Artificial Insemination School October 16-17, 2026, at the Alan T. Busby Farm in Jefferson City, Missouri.

The two-day educational program will provide participants with classroom instruction and practical training in beef cattle reproduction and artificial insemination techniques.

The program is designed to help participants develop foundational knowledge and practical skills in artificial insemination, reproductive anatomy, and synchronization techniques used in beef cattle production.

Training will begin Friday, October 16, from 1 to 6 p.m. Sessions will continue Saturday, October 17, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants will have opportunities to learn essential concepts through classroom presentations, instructor-led demonstrations and hands-on practice.

The school will cover basic reproductive anatomy and synchronization methods, along with practical instruction in artificial insemination. Combining classroom learning with direct experience will help participants better understand the procedures and techniques involved in managing cattle reproduction.

Registration costs $250 per participant and includes lunch. Enrollment is limited to 12 participants, allowing for a small-group learning environment and opportunities for practical instruction.

The training will take place at the Alan T. Busby Farm, located at 5124 Goller Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109.

Beef producers and others interested in strengthening their knowledge of cattle reproductive management can contact Jody Bruemmer at Lincoln University for additional information about the program.

Bruemmer can be reached by email at bru emmerj@lincolnu.edu or by phone at 573-681-5540.
