Two Missouri Corn leaders have been elected to the board of directors of the newly renamed U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council (USGBC). The announcement was made during the Council’s 65th annual delegates meeting, held on August 1 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Jay Fischer of Jefferson City, a former president of the Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA), was elected as secretary-treasurer. Meanwhile, Dylan Rosier of Mound City, current vice chairman of the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council (MCMC), was elected as an at-large director.
“The U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council is a crucial partner to Missouri corn farmers, putting boots on the ground in countries around the world to help increase market access for corn, ethanol, and corn co-products,” said Missouri Corn CEO Bradley Schad. “Both Jay and Dylan have been staunch supporters of the Council’s mission, and we’re proud to see their efforts to further open markets continue through their service to growers nationwide.”
Fischer has served on the USGBC board since 2021, beginning as an at-large director. Fischer later served as corn sector director, helping to steer initiatives that promote U.S. corn and co-product exports.
A member of the Missouri Corn board since 2009, he now serves in an ex-officio role. His leadership has included positions such as MCGA vice president, secretary/treasurer, and MCMC vice chairman and secretary.
Rosier, before his election, was active on USGBC’s A-Teams, including serving on the Middle East/Africa/South Asia team and most recently as lead of the Western Hemisphere A-Team.
Rosier has represented Missouri corn growers on the board since 2017 and has also held the roles of secretary and treasurer for both MCMC and MCGA.
The MCMC continues to collaborate with USGBC to create and expand global markets for corn and its value-added products. Roughly 20% of the U.S. corn crop is exported annually, including ethanol and distillers dried grains.
