Missouri Corn, Soybean, Cotton Harvests Ahead of Average



There were 4.9 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending Sunday. Temperatures last week averaged 53.8 degrees, 0.2 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged 2.27 inches, 1.62 inches above normal. Topsoil moisture supply rated 27 percent very short, 40 percent short, and 33 percent adequate. Subsoil moisture supply rated 33 percent very short, 41 percent short, and 26 percent adequate.

Corn harvested was 83 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 80 percent. Soybeans harvested was 73 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 56 percent.

Cotton harvested was 68 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 63 percent.

Winter wheat planted was 68 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 55 percent. Winter wheat emerged was 35 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 36. Winter wheat condition rated 1 percent very poor, 12 percent poor, 31 percent fair, 49 percent good, and 7 percent excellent.
