Missouri Harvest Running at Average Pace



There were 4.6 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday. Temperatures last week averaged 48.8 degrees statewide, 3.7 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged 0.54 inches, 0.22 inches below normal. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 1 percent very short, 4 percent short, 88 percent adequate, and 7 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 1 percent very short, 10 percent short, 87 percent adequate, and 2 percent surplus.

Corn harvested for grain was 94 percent complete, compared to the 5-year average of 93 percent.

Soybeans harvested was 81 percent complete, compared to the 5-year average of 84 percent.

Cotton harvested was 86 percent complete, compared to the 5-year average of 88 percent.

Winter wheat planted was 86 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 83 percent. Winter wheat emerged was 72 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 64 percent. Winter wheat condition was rated 4 percent poor, 32 percent fair, 58 percent good, and 6 percent excellent.
