Corn: Planted area is estimated at 3.35 million acres, down 7 percent from last year. Harvested area, forecast at 3.20 million acres, is also down 7 percent from last year. Based on November 1 conditions, the Missouri corn yield is forecast at 154 bushels per acre, down 5 bushels from 2021. Production is forecast at 493 million bushels, 10 percent below last year's production.
Soybeans: Planted area is estimated at 6.10 million acres, up 7 percent from last year. Harvested area, forecast at 6.05 million acres, is up 7 percent from 2021. Based on November 1 conditions, the Missouri soybean yield is forecast at 48 bushels per acre, down 1 bushel from 2021. Production is forecast at 290 million bushels, up 5 percent from 2021.
Cotton: Harvested area is forecast at 300,000 acres, down 3 percent from last year. Based on November 1 conditions, the Missouri cotton yield is forecast at 1,104 pounds per acre, down 156 pounds from last year. Production is forecast at 690,000 bales (480-pound), down 15 percent from last year.
Rice: Planted area, estimated at 155,000 acres, is down 22 percent from 2021. Harvested area is forecast at 149,000 acres, down 23 percent from last year. Based on November 1 conditions, the Missouri rice yield is forecast at 7,800 pounds per acre, down 240 pounds per acre from 2021. Production is forecast at 11.6 million cwt, down 25 percent from last year.
