Most are familiar with Earth Day on April 22.
But one day isn't enough. Missouri State University will dedicate the week of April 18-22 to educate the community on sustainability practices.
"Sustainability refers to the idea that we are dependent on our natural environment for all our needs and well-being," said Dr. Toby Dogwiler, professor and department head of the geography, geology and planning department at MSU. "It also includes the guarantee that future generations will be able to sustain themselves."
Earth Week events will take place across campus this week. All are encouraged to attend.
April 20
10 a.m. -- Seeds and seedlings giveaway, outside Plaster Student Union (PSU) and Siceluff Hall.
1 p.m. -- Presentation: Food Waste is the World's Dumbest Problem, PSU 312
2:30 p.m. -- Day at the Campus Garden
4 p.m. -- Presentation: Healthy Eating to Decrease Disease, PSU 312
April 21
10 a.m.-3 p.m. -- Bear Pantry donation drive/tour, University Hall basement
10 am. -- Presentation: Local Restaurants Sourcing Local Food, PSU 312
Lunch hour: Food waste awareness and pledge, Blair Shannon Dining Hall
1 p.m. -- Presentation: International Veggie Growing Methods, PSU 314
7 p.m. -- Farmers Market, North Mall
April 22
