USDA Emergency Loans to Missouri Storm Affected Farmers

USDA Emergency Loans to Missouri Storm Affected Farmers

By Blake Jackson

Agricultural producers in Missouri affected by a presidentially declared severe winter storm disaster may now qualify for emergency financial assistance through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency (FSA).

The disaster declaration enables the agency to provide emergency loans to help eligible farmers recover from storm-related losses and restore normal operations.

These loans can be used for a variety of recovery efforts, including replacing damaged equipment, purchasing livestock, reorganizing farm operations, or refinancing certain existing debts that resulted from the disaster.

Loan applications will be evaluated based on the level of damage sustained, the collateral available, and the applicant’s ability to repay the loan.

The assistance is available under Presidential Disaster Declaration M4898 Amendment 3, which covers areas impacted by the severe winter storm. In addition to the designated disaster area, producers in Pemiscot County are also eligible for assistance as a contiguous county.

Farmers and ranchers seeking support should submit their applications before the December 10, 2026, deadline. Those needing additional information or wishing to file a Notice of Loss are encouraged to contact their local USDA Service Center for guidance on available disaster assistance programs.
