The Missouri State Fair celebrated young agricultural exhibitors during its annual Sale of Champions on August 22, 2026, generating more than $271,500 to support youth involved in agriculture across the state.
The event showcased top livestock projects exhibited by Missouri FFA and 4-H members. The Grand Champion Steer, shown by Reagan Rodgers of Savannah, sold for $42,500, while the Grand Champion Barrow, exhibited by Harper Heimer of Taylor, brought the highest sale price of the event at $62,500.
In the sheep division, Marlee Massey of Oronogo earned the Grand Champion Market Lamb title, with her entry selling for $17,000. The Grand Champion Meat Goat, exhibited by Elsie Barton of Mountain Grove, sold for $30,500.
Additional champions included Judd Lawson of Schell City, whose Grand Champion Pen of Chickens sold for $5,100, and Kaela Britton of Atlanta, whose Grand Champion Pen of Rabbits sold for $6,100.
Reserve champion exhibitors also received strong support from businesses, organizations, and community sponsors. Notable sales included Ryker Blackford’s Reserve Grand Champion Steer for $33,500, Blair Bergsieker’s Reserve Grand Champion Barrow for $22,000, and Khaden Litton’s Reserve Grand Champion Meat Goat for $24,000.
The event also featured the sale of a commemorative Sale of Champions belt buckle, which was purchased by Missouri State Fair Concessionaires for $5,000, while Edward Jones & Associates purchased the back cover of the 2026 Sale of Champions Yearbook for $2,050.
Organizers said the Sale of Champions continues to highlight the dedication, leadership, and livestock skills of Missouri’s young agricultural exhibitors while providing valuable financial support and recognition for their hard work and accomplishments.
