The University of Missouri St. Clair County Extension is hosting an "American Lamb Consumer and Producer Workshop" you won't want to miss. This exciting event, held in celebration of National Lamb Lovers Month, aims to bridge the gap between sheep farmers and eager consumers, fostering a love for this delicious and versatile meat.

  • Sheep Farming Profitability: Dive into the business side with Linda Coffey, Livestock Specialist at NCAT, who'll shed light on making sheep farming a viable and rewarding endeavor. 
  • Sheep Market Outlook: Get the latest insights from Jennifer Lutes, Ag. Specialist at MU, as she explores the current trends and prospects for the sheep industry. 
  • Why You Should Eat Lamb: David Brown, Livestock Specialist at MU, will dispel common myths and showcase the health benefits and culinary delights of lamb, making you a true believer. 
  • Lamb-Cut Demo: Witness the magic of butchering firsthand as the Value-Added Meat Teams showcase their skills, transforming a whole lamb into a variety of mouthwatering retail cuts. 
  • Special Guest Chef Lou Rice: Get ready to be dazzled by culinary genius! Chef Lou, renowned for his Ozarks Cooking, will take you on a taste bud journey with a live lamb-cooking demonstration.
