Get ready for a series of engaging field days hosted by the University of Missouri (MU) across the state. From August through October, MU's agriculture researchers and extension specialists will present their latest findings at Extension and Education Centers (EECs) and Research, Extension and Education Centers (REECs). These events offer valuable opportunities for producers and the public to learn and connect.
The schedule includes various regional field days. Notable events are the ribbon-cutting and field day at the Graves-Chapple Center near Rock Port on August 22, the Farm, Field and Family Day at the Hundley-Whaley Center in Albany on September 7, and the Producer Field Day at the Wurdack Center in Cook Station on October 6, focusing on alternative forages and drought planning.
The REEC field days feature the Northern Missouri REEC Field Day at Lee Greenley Jr. Memorial Farm near Novelty on August 3, offering interactive farm tours and discussions on crops, pest management, and livestock. The MU Ag Research Expo at Fisher Delta Center in Portageville on August 30 promises hands-on discussions, a research field tour, an agricultural drone demonstration, and more. The CAFNR Showcase, a family-friendly event, will take place at the Central Missouri REEC in Columbia on September 30.
The Southwest REEC near Mount Vernon and the Central Missouri REEC near Columbia will host Career Exploration Days in the fall, allowing high school students to explore various agricultural career paths.
With MU Extension's support, these field days contribute to the ambitious goal of doubling the economic impact of agriculture by 2030 while ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources.
