Grow with corn - $1k MO scholarships bloom

By Blake Jackson

Aspiring ag leaders, get ready to plant the seeds for your future! The Missouri Corn Growers Association and Missouri Corn Merchandising Council are once again offering seven $1,000 scholarships to deserving students in 2024.

Whether you're a high school senior dreaming of a career in agronomy or a college junior already tilling the academic fields, this scholarship program can help you blossom. "Education is the fertile ground for a thriving agriculture industry," says scholarship committee Chairman Brandon Thiel. "We're proud to invest in the future by supporting tomorrow's corn champions."

Ready to sprout your application? Head over to www.mocorn.org and click on the "Resources" tab. You can also give the Missouri Corn office a call at 800-827-4181. But don't let your application wither on the vine – the deadline to submit your application, transcript, and a letter of recommendation is February 16, 2024.

Here's what you need to know to qualify:

  • High school seniors: Show your Missouri roots! You must be a resident from a farm or rural area in the state and plan to attend a Missouri college or university, majoring in agronomy or a related field. This scholarship will nourish your freshman year expenses.
  • College juniors: Stay grounded in Missouri! You must be a resident from a farm or rural area in the state and currently enrolled as a junior in a Missouri four-year college or university, majoring in agronomy or a related field. This scholarship will help you flourish during your senior year.

The Missouri Corn Scholarship Committee will carefully evaluate each application, and the lucky recipients will receive their harvest of good news by mail on or before April 15, 2024. To learn more about Missouri Corn programs, visit www.mocorn.org
