Grain weevil and AgZen secure top honors at event

The Nebraska Ag Expo recently hosted its third Innovation After Hours event, bringing together over 150 startups, investors, and agricultural innovators at the Sandhills Global Event Center in Lincoln, NE.

Sponsored by notable organizations such as Farm Credit Services of America and Invest Nebraska, the event showcased groundbreaking advancements in the agricultural sector.

During the Startup Showcase, six competing companies presented their cutting-edge solutions aimed at transforming farming practices.

Among the participants, Grain Weevil stood out and clinched the Startup Showcase Winner title along with a $5000 prize, thanks to its innovative robot enhancing safety and efficiency in grain bin management.

Meanwhile, AgZen captured the People's Choice Award with a $1000 prize, recognized for its real-time droplet behavior monitoring technology, which promises to revolutionize farming practices.

Other notable participants included ALA Engineering, which specializes in precision feedlot operations, and Bio-Agtive Emissions Farming from Canada, focusing on sustainable nitrogen acquisition and reducing reliance on synthetic inputs.

The event not only highlighted technological advances but also facilitated networking among industry leaders, promoting future collaborations.

As an annual highlight of the Nebraska Ag Expo, the Innovation Hub continues to be a pivotal platform for new ideas and technologies in agriculture.
