Karson Calvin from Troy and Claire Walker from Chillicothe have been selected as the 2025 Missouri Farm Bureau (MOFB) Ambassadors. This announcement was made during the 110th MOFB annual meeting, where a panel of judges chose these two outstanding individuals.
The MOFB Ambassador Program selects one male and one female student, aged 17 to 22, to represent the agricultural community and the Missouri Farm Bureau for one year. Both Ambassadors will receive a $2,500 educational scholarship and will participate in various events throughout 2025. These include a legislative trip to Washington, D.C., the Missouri State Fair, and other promotional activities.
About the Ambassadors
- Karson Calvin, representing Lincoln County Farm Bureau, is a sophomore at the University of Missouri. He is majoring in agricultural education and actively participates in the MU Collegiate Farm Bureau as treasurer. Additionally, he serves on the executive team of the MU Agricultural Education Society. Calvin aspires to either become an agricultural educator and FFA advisor, following his father’s career path, or work in agricultural legislative policy and communication.
- Claire Walker, representing Livingston County Farm Bureau, is a junior at the University of Missouri, studying agribusiness management. Walker, who holds the title of Missouri State Fair Queen, is involved in several campus organizations, including the MU Collegiate Farm Bureau, Block & Bridle, Sigma Alpha, and the agribusiness club. Growing up on a century farm, she gained hands-on experience raising Simmental cattle and producing row crops and hay. Walker plans to pursue a Master’s degree in agricultural communication to advocate for the farming industry.
This year’s competition included 14 students. Judges conducted interviews with each contestant, and six finalists participated in panel discussions led by the 2024 Ambassadors, Madison Meyer and Caleb Simpson. The MOFB Promotion and Education Committee oversees the program, with scholarship funding provided by the MOFB Foundation for Agriculture.
The Ambassador Program highlights the commitment of Missouri’s youth to advancing agriculture and provides opportunities for them to lead and advocate within the industry.
