The July Prices Received Index (2011 Base) for Agricultural Production stood at 123.5, marking a 2.7% decline from June and a 1.2% decrease compared to July 2023.
The Crop Production Index, recorded at 100.1, saw a significant drop of 6.7% from the previous month and a 16% decline from the same period last year.
In contrast, the Livestock Production Index rose to 152.7, reflecting a 3.4% increase from June and a substantial 16% rise from July of the previous year.
During July, producers experienced lower prices for crops like lettuce, corn, broccoli, and soybeans. However, prices increased for market eggs, cattle, oranges, and strawberries.
These price fluctuations, combined with changes in the volume of commodities marketed, influenced the overall indexes. Specifically, there was a reduction in the marketing of milk, cattle, oranges, and broilers.
On the other hand, the month saw increased movement in wheat, grapes, cotton, and hay, contributing to the dynamics of the agricultural market during this period.
